At ARCH, our stated aim is to provide a consistent and informed approach to healthcare planning and design. Our approach promotes the application of contemporary and evidenced-based standards for the delivery of high quality healthcare services. We strive to create dynamic hospitals and healthcare facilities that have a clear directive. We take a holistic approach, designing healthcare facilities that proactively contribute to healthy outcomes. We look beyond traditional designs to embrace connection, flexibility, legibility, and soft edges. We adopt a patient-centric design process that seeks to integrate the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient, ensuring the facility supports the community and provides ongoing relevance to all users.

ARCH’s patient-centric hospital and wellness centre designs integrate the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient.

We take a holistic approach, designing healthcare facilities that proactively contribute to healthy outcomes. Our values are quality, safety, privacy, dignity and respect for healthier, more connected, and sustainable healthcare services.

For our health team at ARCH it is vital to create dynamic hospitals and healthcare facilities that have strong identity and clear directives. We look beyond traditional designs to embrace connection, flexibility, legibility, and soft edges. Flexible places and facilities are easily adapted to a variety of activities, age groups and interests, thus ensuring they are used every day with ongoing relevance. Legibility is essential to ensure the hospital is simple to navigate and safe to move through. Soft edges between the hospital and the wider community are important because it is the edges in between buildings that attract the highest utilisation. These are the places people gather,  stimulate a community, and make them safe. Animated places give a campus a heart and soul.

ARCH's healthcare designs respond to the needs of the community, health service needs, and the users. Hospitals must also effectively interface with community and home care, ambulatory care, aged care and other preventative services. We consider each healthcare facility as a component of the whole care system. Healthcare facilities are no longer isolated from the urban environment, but integrated with retail, hospitality, wellness centres and education activities.
At ARCH, we offer a team of skilled, senior personnel who possess the necessary skills and experience to undertake their project role, responsibilities and commitments. We have a core team of people with significant experience in delivering healthcare projects, a team with excellent design capabilities, and a team that understands the challenges of delivering complex projects.

Healthcare environments are constantly changing with facilities being integrated with educational, aged care and commercial areas. Designing healthcare facilities for the future demands a deep understanding of the impacts of changing models of care, new treatment technologies, environmental considerations, and new approaches to procurement. Our knowledge leaders are constantly exploring and investigating approaches utilised for public and private health services, both nationally and internationally. We utilise these lessons and apply the findings in collaboration with our clients to ensure benefits are realised.
ARCH keeps abreast of the latest innovations in healthcare systems and environments. To maintain awareness of current developments in healthcare, technology and patient management that have an effect on the design of facilities, our health experts regularly visit recent significant projects, conduct research and attend health design conferences. We place great importance on conducting post occupancy evaluation of our projects to ensure that what looks good in planning, does in fact result in practical, successful outcomes.

Within our national practice, we have the depth of skill to tailor our team and our methodology to suit the needs of every project. Our team is highly experienced, collaborative and passionate about creating spaces that are safe, reflective of best practice and supportive of wellbeing and recovery.
