Brisbane Private Hospital Inpatient Unit
Improved clinical efficiencies for a new patient experience
This new inpatient building provides clinical spaces and a contemporary, new face for the hospital’s main entrance. A zinc awning statement wraps around the building leading the eye to the main entrance. Responding to and complementing the existing hospital, the building’s street face references adjoining city buildings in a crisp modern manner. The glazed curtain wall facade references city buildings and provides reflections of surrounding mature trees and takes advantage of views to adjoining parkland.
Warm, modern and inviting interiors, avoiding traditional clinical environments create a secure, supportive environment. ARCH optimised functional planning on each floor for clinical efficiencies, with the patient experience in mind. At ground level new retail spaces are located close to entrance, including a coffee shop which interacts with the street. An outpatient mental health facility is on the ground floor. The next two levels are dedicated to mental health wards and inpatient support areas. The fourth level provides a standard medical ward and consultant suites are located at the level five rooftop.
