August 2024

It's a wrap

After the successful conclusion of our 2024 Assembly, everyone in attendance left feeling inspired about our future under our new brand, ARCH. From one team member .... "The sense of a new beginning for the firm, that everyone was invited to share, strengthened connections."

Our 2024 Assembly demonstrated the power of collaboration and face-to-face interaction. Bringing over 90% of our team together in a casual yet focused setting allowed us to strengthen working relationships, improve communication, and gain a deeper understanding of each other's roles.

A significant motivation to bring everyone together was to launch our new brand to the market. The new brand, designed by the very clever, Fluid Branding, represents a new beginning for the firm, and we were thrilled to share this milestone with everyone.

The day began with a tour of our multi-award winning project, Eric Tweedale Stadium where architect, Ivana Simkovic led a tour of the facility and grounds. Everyone had the opportunity to experience the dynamic Glulam cantilevered pavilion roof and learn about the sustainability initiatives incorporated to meet local community needs.

Everyone then piled back on our Sydney Coach Charter bus and driver Jimmy dropped the team at our venue for the day. Our experience with Sydney Coach Charter was exemplary, from initial quote through booking and airport transfers on the day.

The Granville Centre, also an ARCH designed project, was our chosen event venue. All attendees are in agreeance that the venue delivered more than expected, with exceptional on-site support from the Cumberland City Council team, that significantly contributed to the overall success of the Assembly.

Thank you to Shane Laws, for delivering our Welcome to Country and enlightening us with local First Nations words and phrases.

Dr. Jessica Gallagher's keynote address was nothing short of awe-inspiring, leaving a lasting impact on all of us. We are eagerly looking forward to her upcoming performance in the paralympic cycling event on 30 August. Her remarkable determination and resilience in the face of challenges have motivated our team to strive for even higher standards in our design work.

A series of workshops, "Our projects", "Our people" and "Our process", covered topics including project leadership, career development, and the future of digital technologies. These workshops delved into specific strategies for project management, career growth opportunities within ARCH, and the latest advancements in digital technologies that will shape our future projects.

We want to express our gratitude to Vanilla Blue for their incredibly delicious food, with a special mention of the exquisite lemon polenta cake with creamy mascarpone frosting. Catering for all dietary requirements was an absolute breeze. We are also immensely thankful to MBCCookies for the delicious ARCH branded cake, which truly added a special touch to the event.

Congratulations to our Adelaide based Senior Architectural Technician, Daya Siriwardene for winning our Paper Plane Olympics with his effortlessly minimalist design. If not for a glass wall, Daya's exceptional design would have soared out of the building. You can watch the amazing aircraft in flight in the video below.

Our branded KeepCups were a massive hit, now adorning desks and serving as powerful symbols of our dedication to sustainability. Additionally, we are delighted to be sharing them with our clients, spreading the message of environmental responsibility even further.

Finally, a big thank you to Craft Digital Marketing, the creators of this fantastic video we are thrilled to share with you!
