Star Of The Sea is located on Thursday Island and serves the Indigenous and local community, housing the most important people in Aboriginal society, its elders. The facility is located on a truly idyllic location overlooking the Torres Strait. The building design and layout enforce the sense of place and connection to the site and its environs.

The beauty and inspiration for the project is its people who were considered and consulted at all stages of the project, in particular for the interior fit out. The importance of colour and openness and connection to the environment were cornerstone principles incorporated into the design.
