Eric Tweedale Stadium
Award winning form and function prioritises sustainability
Eric Tweedale Stadium, is a new community sport pavilion for Cumberland City Council. It includes a new building, a grandstand, upgraded car park and new rugby league playing field.
The facility has been designed with the best practice principles of sustainability and simple form which will seamlessly blend into the existing Granville Park and surrounding neighbourhood.Best practice sustainability includes building fabric, including glulam and CLT timber construction, glazing performance, solar renewable energy and naturally ventilated spaces.
The biggest attention has been put in the design of impressive glulam timber roof structure. Splayed rafters, supported on glulam timber columns have been designed to blend into the existing tree canopy and open onto the new pitch.
