SA State Netball Centre
Championing active lives, connection, and access at every level from local players to future stars
ARCH, in collaboration with DesignInc, have been engaged to deliver a new state-significant netball centre in South Australia, reflecting the sport’s growing popularity and demand for high-quality facilities. Designed to support participation at every level, from grassroots to elite performance, the centre will provide state-of-the-art training and competition spaces that meet both current and future needs. The facility will provide multi-use, flexible space that extends its value beyond netball, creating opportunities for broader community engagement and year-round activation. At the heart of the project is a commitment to connectivity, community, and promoting active lifestyles. The architectural response prioritises inclusive design, accessibility, and the creation of social spaces that bring people together.
Designed as 2 Stages to enable continued operation as a live and active site, following a masterplanning process, the new facility will comprise 26 outdoor courts supporting netball and pickleball, as well as a new indoor facility comprising 2 multi-sport halls, with a total of 6 courts, including a dedicated showcourt mode with over 300 spectators. All courts and accommodated sports are aligned to all competition standards and code compliance.
The Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing through the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (South Australia) engaged DesignInc and ARCH to deliver the $92 million South Australian Netball Centre, a strategically important sporting infrastructure project in South Australia. Although early in the design delivery phase, the team have demonstrated exceptional leadership, agility and project-specific expertise. The project was positioned early for success by resourcing key delivery stages appropriately to align with the construction program. We are looking forward to seeing our vision come to life.
