Brisbane Markets Building G2

Re-lifing a disused industrial building into a vibrant mix of organic markets retail and lifestyle activities

Building G2 was an old building at the front of Brisbane Markets which had deteriorated to the point that our client described it as an ‘eye-sore’. ARCH's initial engagement was a feasibility study to assess the works needed to refurbish the building, potential new occupancies and create concepts for refreshing the building exterior that has important presence in the Markets complex.

Our interior refurbishment options proposed creating additional lettable space by extending mezzanine levels and introducing workplace tenancies. Carparking, traffic, circulation and exterior amenity were also reviewed.

Following our feasibility and subsequent schematic design and concept images which gave the market’s management the confidence that the project was commercially viable, ARCH was appointed to complete the refurbishment. The completed building is now bustling with a vibrant mix of tenants, adding extra value to the mix of services at Brisbane markets.
