Roy Dore Pavilion Redevelopment
The Roy Dore Reserve underwent an upgrading to become the new Carrum Sports Precinct, home to a host of sporting and community groups in new and upgraded facilities.
The Roy Dore Pavilion was designed with local sporting clubs and other community user groups to provide a new state-of-the-art sports facility incorporating a gym, kiosk, catering facility, meeting room, flexible community areas, radio room, change rooms, medical areas, storage and amenities.
The sporting pavilion is located between two fields of play, an interface between the new build and the existing site, particularly in the muster areas, the area at the entry to the building, and the function/social rooms.
The set-back north glazed facade with projecting window "frames" on the first level cantilevers over the ground level masonry facade, screened by metal mesh screens that encourage natural lighting and views through the surrounding balcony and terrace.
