Inspired by sailboats drifting on the adjacent Derwent River, ARCH’s design for this grandstand increases seating capacity at Tasmania’s premier sporting stadium.Catering for more than 4,500 people, the design improves pedestrian access, provides secure areas for crowds to congregate and delivers better links to public transport.

The redevelopment ensures elite sports training, gym and rehabilitation requirements are provided for national and international cricket and AFL matches. The new change and recovery facilities and indoor practice facilities are located below the grandstand. ARCH’s design delivers great value and maximises reuse of retained structures through extensive refurbishment of existing facilities
