Souter Pavilion
A welcoming, inclusive, family friendly environment and a safe community space for all ages, genders, abilities and backgrounds
As part of Council’s commitment to provide improved sporting facilities at Dingley Reserve, redevelopment of the existing pavilion was planned to meet growing demand for cricket and AFL facilities and provide more sporting and community facilities for the Dingley Community.
ARCH was engaged to design new two-storey pavilion with new change rooms, new social room and community space, match day kiosk, umpires change rooms, commercial kitchen and public toilets. Engagement also included refurbishment and integration of the existing change room facility in the existing single storey pavilion that is to be connected to the new pavilion, relocation of the cricket storage shed closer to the cricket nets; pathways and landscaping surrounding the new development and upgrades to existing carpark.
City of Kingston’s vision for the project was that “the pavilion will meet contemporary sporting code requirements and provide flexible spaces to support the clubs to grow and thrive through building connections with the local community. The facility is a welcoming, inclusive, family friendly environment and a safe community space for all ages, genders, abilities and backgrounds”.
